You’ve got to be a tad cheeky to stop people in the street. But getting them to part with their bank details – all in the name of a good cause – takes someone, well, almost super-human.

As quick as you can say ‘chari-dee’ you have to get passers-by to like you, listen to your lowdown on world-changing stuff and sign up to make regular donations.

This means breaking down barriers, cutting through apathy and taking it on the chin every time someone suddenly seems to be ‘in a terrible hurry’.

But we’re a tough lot at Gift. It’s all water off a duck’s back, which makes us brilliant at what we do. So far we’ve raised £millions for charities and we just keep growing and growing.

For us, street fundraising’s good karma. It opens people’s eyes to the issues that matter. It feels good to do good, and the money’s not bad either. You can start on £7.50 an hour, and in a couple of months you could be on £12.50 an hour leading a team and you could earn more with our new bonus scheme!

You could even be a manager within a year – nearly all our managers started as street fundraisers - or you could go off and land a good job with a leading charity. Or you could just join us short-term. We’re very flexible. All we ask is that you give a damn.
