Hairdressing Trainer

Location: Covent Garden
Position: Full Time
Hours: 9.30am – 5.30pm
Salary: 17-18k pa (+6k bonuses)

The London Beauty Institute is a progressive training school for hair and beauty. We are based in Covent Garden, Central London. We are currently looking for a new hair trainer. You will be responsible for taking the following courses:

• Hair Cutting
• Hair Colouring (L’OREAL)
• Hair up / Bridal Hair course
• Barbering
• Blow-drying
• GHD
In addition to this you will also be expected to cross-train to Hair Extensions.

The ideal candidate will be bubbly and outgoing and able to take classes of up to 4 people. The Trainer will be demonstrating, assessing, monitoring and supporting the Hairdressing course learners. You must have a true passion for hairdressing and delivering a positive training experience. You must also be adept at training people of differing levels. Classes run Monday to Friday from 10.30- 4.30. You will have to work occasional Saturdays (1 per month). You will also be required to help write/revise manuals for all of these courses. When courses are not running you will help out on the admin side of things or doing hair clients.

You will also be undertaking the following:
To correctly interpret and assess standards for Hairdressing
To train students to ensure they have sufficient competence to successfully complete their training programme
To identify and address gaps in achievement and support and mentor where appropriate
To maintain a record of progress and achievement for each student
To give constructive feedback on achievement and performance to students

Ideally you will have the following background:

• NVQ3
• Minimum 5 years salon experience
• Excellent English skills both spoken and written
• Strong communication skills
